LAUSANNE, Switzerland — iWedia, a leading provider of software solutions for TV devices, today announced it has provided its SAT>IP server software to leading Belgian digital TV headends manufacturer UnitronGroup for integration within its new Johansson 9830 multiswitch.
An early adopter of the SAT>IP standard, iWedia has developed and market an end-to-end solution comprising both a server and a client software.
UnitronGroup has integrated iWedia’s SAT>IP server software in its new Johansson 9830 multiswitch which has received SES ASTRA certification for V1.2 of the specifications.
Targeted at multi dwelling units, equipped with four LNB inputs for Quattro or Quad LNB, and with two IP outputs, each supporting up to eight independent users on a gigabit network, the Johansson 9830 multiswitch streams satellite TV (SD and HD) and radio over IP towards smart phones, tablets, PC, and smart TVs.
“With respect to SAT>IP, we were looking for a software provider which would bring us both the software product and the expertise,” commented Stephen Deleu, R&D Director at UnitronGroup. “We have been in a position to benefit from iWedia’s strong SAT>IP knowledge and to base our product development on a robust, reliable, and already certified software component designed to be easily integrated.”
“We appreciate UnitronGroup’s capabilities to deliver sophisticated Digital TV headends in the market”, says Hervé Creff, VP Marketing at iWedia. “And we have been delighted to accompany them in their SAT>IP multiswitch development with our state-of-the-art software component and strong expertise in the domain.”
