PARIS and MIAMI and BEIJING — Hainan Network TV (HNNTV) selected the ATEME TITAN Live transcoder for a multi-channel HD and SD IPTV service, for STB and mobile devices.
TITAN Live is a virtualized, software-based encoder-transcoder with support for HEVC, H264 and MPEG2. TITAN Live supports resolutions from mobile devices to 4K.
- High video quality: TITAN Live, with the ATEME STREAM© software compression engine, enables Hainan to deliver live high VQ H264 HD at the bitrate most suitable for OTT service over open Internet.
- Future-proof: TITAN Live can be easily upgraded to support HEVC and 4K, ensuring that service providers deploying H264 services have an upgrade path to HEVC and monetization of their PC server investment.
- High density: This fifth generation of ATEME STREAM© compression engine enables service providers to support dozens of channels with COTS servers, reducing headend CAPEX and OPEX.
- Low latency: Based on ATEME contribution technology, TITAN Live supports linear distribution encoding and transcoding at the lowest possible latencies.
“We needed a solution that can service both our QoS IPTV and our open Internet OTT service,” said Chen Qiong, Hainan TV chief engineer. “The ATEME TITAN Live all-in-one solution with support for multiple progressive and interlaced outputs from a single input, built-in packager and independent logo insertion per output enabled us to launch a hybrid service with short time to market.”
