Bangladesh tenders for DTH satellite

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has issued a tender for the delivery of a Geosynchronous Satellite System for the provision of Communications and Broadcasting Services to Bangladesh and the surrounding region.
According to the tender document, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh intends to implement a geosynchronous satellite system with 40 transponders, 26 Ku-band and 14 C-band, and all associated ground subsystems to provide communications and broadcasting services to Bangladesh and the surrounding region, with anticipated launch in late 2017.
The BTRC is responsible for implementing the program under Bangabandhu Satellite Launching Project.
The last date for tender submission is June 2, 2015
