‘du’ partners with Omantel to provide its award-winning IPTV services to the Oman market in a white label deal
In a regional first, two independent telecom operators collaborate to bridge their needs gap by bringing du’s award winning IPTV platform to Oman; thereby reducing Omantel’s time-to-market and costs and expanding du investment and reach.
du, the fastest-growing telecom service provider in the Middle East, today signed a partnership agreement with Omantel, Oman’s largest telecom operator, for its award-winning IPTV service platform. Through this regional first tie up between the operators, Omantel will be able to launch IPTV service in their local market using du’s IPTV platform, thereby reducing their time-to-market and offering their customers a world-class IPTV experience. The partnership agreement provides an opportunity for du to expand the regional reach of its IPTV platform.
Mr. Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer, du, said: “Our partnership with Omantel marks a significant step for us as we continue in our steadfast growth throughout the region. We are now a regional ICT player, having diversified from pure telecommunications, and we’re expanding our offerings for regional incumbents”.
Mr. Talal Said Marhoon Al Mamari, Chief Executive Officer, Omantel, said: “We are pleased to enter into this partnership agreement with du which will enable us to offer our customers state-of-the-art IPTV service. As the owner of Oman’s largest IP network, we believe IPTV provides a unique opportunity to offer our customers unmatched broadcast quality for on-demand entertainment services”.
This new partnership is demonstrative of the collaboration potential between regional operators that can reduce costs, and create a new order where operators do not have to build infrastructure from scratch, but can rely on partners to launch new services and sharing best practices & offerings.
