MTV chooses Norigin Media to build Smart TV apps

OSLO, Norway/HELSINKI, Finland — MTV Oy, the Finnish Media and TV company has chosen Norigin Media to build smart TV applications on Samsung and LG Connected TVs. The company which is part of the Bonnier Group plans to launch a new premium TV streaming services on these applications.

Norigin Media will utilise its multi-screen TV-App modules and framework to develop the custom designed applications for the broadcaster. The unique applications will be directly integrated towards MTV´s advanced OTT platform, which already supports the Katsomo Apps today.

MTV have already had a lot of success with the Katsomo multi-screen Applications, which are hugely popular in Finland. The genres offered include varied segments of Kids, Sports, TV Series and movies that are all uniquely popular within the OTT-video space. The streaming services from MTV attract more than 2 million sessions a week and include a host of advertising-funded (AVOD) and premium content.
