Stofa selects iWedia Android TV for new 4K Box

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — iWedia, a leading provider of software solutions for TV devices to service operators and consumer electronics manufacturers, today announced that its Teatro-3.5 solution for Android TV STB has been chosen by Stofa to operate its next-gen TV box.
Stofa, the second largest cable TV and triple play operator in Denmark, and a subsidiary of the country’s third largest energy supplier, SE, provides a broad selection of television and Pay TV offerings, high-speed broadband, and telephone services to its customers.
The announcement was made at TV Connect 2017, which is being held in London (ExCeL) from Tuesday, March 28th through to Thursday, March 30th and where iWedia exhibits (stand B54).
Teatro-3.5 is a complete software solution for STB operated under Android TV. It is based on iWedia ANDROID4TV framework which extends Android TV with broadcast and multicast Pay TV functionalities implemented as input modules of the Android TV Input Framework (TIF).
In the Stofa context, Teatro-3.5 complements Android TV 7.0 Nougat, is integrated with a Conditional Access Systems (CAS), and operates a quad cable tuners 4K STB provided by Korean manufacturer KaonMedia.

The new TV box is set for an autumn launch.
