Embratel to launch DTH in Brazil
Monday, April 28th, 2008Embratel has received approval of its application for a Direct to Home (DTH) licence. Approval was granted by Anatel – Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações – the body that regulates the telecommunications industry in Brazil.
With the DTH licence, Embratel plans to offer a national pay TV satellite service from the second half of this year. The service will be offered through the new Star One C2 satellite, launched into space at the end of last week and which comes into operation from the end of May.
