Ireland - BCI Announces DTT Applicant Details
Friday, May 2nd, 2008The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has today announced details of applications received for the three national Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) multiplex contracts, which were advertised by the Commission on March 7th last. A total of nine applications were received from three consortia by the 12 noon deadline. Details of the applicant groups are as follows:

In the case of each consortium, the applications submitted are conditional upon all three contracts being awarded to the applicant group.
A public hearing will now take place on Monday May 12th at 1.30 p.m. in the Westbury Hotel, Dublin. The event will give the three applicants the opportunity to present their applications in a public forum, facilitating transparency in the licensing process. The hearing also affords the general public an opportunity to hear details of the range of proposals in respect of DTT in Ireland.
An Executive Summary of the applications received will be publicly available on Wednesday May 7th. The applications received will be made available in the coming weeks on-line, or to view at the Commission’s offices, 2-5 Warrington Place, Dublin 2. A public copy of all applications received will also be placed in the Central Library, Ilac Centre, Henry Street Dublin 1.
