YouView reaches three million milestone

YouView, the hybrid digital television platform, is powering more than three million set-top boxes and digital devices across the UK.

The threshold was broken last week just seven months after the successful roll-out of YouView’s software upgrade across its entire set top box device base, earning the company Advanced TV Innovation of the Year at the 2017 Content Innovation Awards and Best Platform at the annual T3 Awards.

The hybrid digital platform is the TV interface for BT TV, TalkTalk TV, Plusnet TV and Sony Android TV’s, integrating DTT and IP content through a visually driven user interface and cloud based data platform.

The company recently announced it is one of three worldwide TV platforms to collaborate with Amazon on its video skills application for its popular Alexa smart assistant to create a voice controlled TV experience, and just launched new features including Discover and Watchlist to its retail device offering.
