GoBackTV Unveils New Look for RetroVue® MyRV Portal at IPTV World Forum 2008

LONDON — GoBackTV, the innovative supplier of digital video headend and edge solutions, is pleased to announce the first public demonstration of a new CoverFlow-style option for the RetroVue MyRV Portal set-top box interface.

MyRV Portal is an HTML-based lightweight middleware for RetroVue stream-based television services. Functionality and appearance of the set-top box’s graphical user interface (GUI) are defined by javascript and PHP code, making it easy for operators to customize, maintain, and update using open PHP/HTML authoring tools. Default navigation includes EPG, historical EPG (for timeshifting), VoD, nPVR, personal channels, and playlists.

Visitors to Stand # 231 at IPTV World Forum at the Olympia, London, March 12-14, can experience the new look and feel with EPG navigation and access to other RetroVue features. GoBackTV will also be showcasing the GigaQAM® IP CMTS-Bypass Controller, which enables the affordable delivery of unicast and multicast IPTV over cable to an IP set-top box via a standard EuroDOCSIS 1.1/2.0 cable modem.

MyRV Portal, including PHP source code for several sample interface styles, is part of the RetroVue Application Server, which provides service management and resource allocation for the RetroVue System.

“We are pleased to share yet another aspect of the flexibility and versatility of the RetroVue System,” said Rei Brockett, Vice President of Marketing at GoBackTV. “Our goal is to help operators overcome the obstacles that impede them from delivering the experience their subscribers demand.”
