New Dutch TV operator NewonTV selects Cybermedia Television to power cutting-edge OTT TV service

ROTTERDAM — Cybermedia Television today announced that it has been selected by NewonTV, the new Dutch Internet TV operator, to power its new cross-device TV service.

NewonTV is a brilliant new OTT platform providing all primary TV channels in the Netherlands, premium content packs, community driven linear TV info channels and a range of entertainment, information and smart home TV apps.

As an additional service, the basic free-to-air TV channels will also be made available to Dutch viewers who currently reside outside of the Netherlands, by using the NewonTV BASIC streaming service.

NewonTV will be available on Android, iPhone, iPad, set-top boxes, Roku and connected TV devices. The service is available to consumers as a subscriptions service and offers linear TV. Fuelled by strong demand and a fast growing Dutch generation that prefer consuming TV anywhere, the launch of NewonTV in close cooperation with Cybermedia Television, will be followed by adding community driven TV a wider range of community TV and this at highly competitive end-user prices.

Cybermedia Television is using its virtual CDN technology to stream all the linear channels, enabling NewonTV to launch at the lowest price for TV in the Netherlands.

After the launch, NewonTV will announce the first large strategic retail partners that will accelerate new customers boarding in and after summer.
