TDS Telecom Selects TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform to Bring Cutting-Edge Innovation to Subscribers

  • Plans to Deploy IPTV Solution for Android TV, Streamers and Mobile

SAN JOSE, Calif. — TiVo Corporation (NASDAQ: TIVO), a global leader in entertainment technology and audience insights, and TDS Telecom (TDS) today announced that TDS has chosen TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform, to bring innovative entertainment solutions to TDS’ customers. TDS Telecom will roll out its new TiVo-powered video solution to both new and existing TV subscribers in both cable operations and wireline service areas.

TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform will allow TDS to deliver hyper-personalization, advanced search and recommendations, voice control, seamless discovery across linear, over-the-top, on-demand and cloud DVR platforms, with superior multiscreen capabilities via a cloud-based, device-agnostic service. This new solution will help TDS reduce churn and drive customer engagement.

TDS’s video solution will include a full suite of IPTV solutions, including IPVOD, IP linear, start-over/catch-up and network DVR. Nokia is providing the end-to-end content delivery solution, including its market leading Velocix Media Delivery Platform and Origin Server.
