AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — Today 24i Media, an industry-leading, global video app developer, showcased how customers can quickly and easily extract insights from videos using Smart OTT and Microsoft Azure Media Services: Video Indexer. 24i will this new solution at the Microsoft booth (#SL6716) and at the 24i booth (#SU9610) at the 2019 NAB Show in Vegas.
In a move to empower its customers to make their video services even more personalized, powerful and intuitive, 24i Media has integrated Video Indexer into their product line. This integration will empower customers to build enhanced search experiences in their video apps, with embedded insights, that increase user engagement.
“Media companies with large archives often struggle with the challenge of transforming those archives into business value, particularly given the challenges of content discovery at scale. Content categorization is often flawed and manual tagging is expensive, error-prone and scales badly,” said Martijn van Horssen, CEO at 24i Media. “By integrating Video Indexer to our modular suite of OTT components, we’re making it easier for customers to unleash the power of their content, improving viewer interaction and engagement.”
Video Indexer builds upon media AI technologies to make it easier to extract insights from videos. Customers can use it to search for spoken words, faces, characters, emotions and enrich apps with embedded video insights to drive user engagement. When paired with 24i’s technology, metadata is automatically created by the Indexer and imported as tags into 24i’s SmartOTT. For broadcasters for example, this can help create more impactful promotion clips and drive viewers to their content.
“Be it live or on-demand, video is a great way for media companies to engage with viewers whose consumption habits have evolved beyond the linear experience,” said Sudheer Sirivara, General Manager, Azure Media, Microsoft Corp. “We’re excited to partner with 24i Media to deliver a personalized viewing experience to audiences, anytime, anywhere, on any device.”
