CAMBRIDGE, UK, and LAS VEGAS, NV — Amino Communications (London AIM: AMO), the world leading IPTV platform supplier, announced today at the NXTcomm08 Show in Las Vegas, that its AmiNET130 Set-Top Box (STB) has been certified by Minerva Networks, a leading provider of open-platform carrier class solutions for the delivery of broadband television services.
The AmiNET130, which offers service providers a cost-effective means to deliver end-to-end digital High Definition (HD) TV, has successfully completed both lab and field trials and is now deemed fully compatible with Minerva’s iTVManager 3.x platform.
iTVManager, deployed by over 120 operators worldwide, is a comprehensive software solution for the delivery and management of a broad set of television services, including high-definition TV (HDTV), digital video recording (DVR), video-on-demand (VOD), music, games, and communication applications.
“The certification process ensures that high-quality products, like the AmiNET130, can be easily integrated with our platform,” said Jean-Georges Fritsch, Chief Operating Officer for Minerva Networks. “Operators can deploy IPTV services with confidence, knowing that leading providers of IPTV set-top boxes and middleware have worked together to deliver fully tested, carrier-class solutions.”
“The certification process brings huge benefit to both us and the end-user,” said Rick Sailor, VP Sales Americas for Amino. “A STB which has achieved and maintained this certification generates more confidence than one that has only been unit tested. The AmiNET130 has been proven to be compatible with Minerva’s middleware, helping ensure a robust and reliable service.”
