Nielsen and Block Communications Announce Multi-year Renewal Agreement for Local TV
NEW YORK, NY — Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN) and Block Communications, Inc. announced today that they have reached a multi-year renewal agreement for Nielsen Local TV measurement services across Block’s television stations and markets. This includes WDRB (Fox), WBKI (CW) and WMYO (My Network) in Louisville; WAND (NBC) in Champaign – Springfield – Decatur; and WOHL (ABC), WOHL DT2 (CBS), WLIO (NBC) and WLIO DT2 (Fox) in Lima.
“Block Communications has a long standing relationship with Nielsen, and we are happy to continue that partnership in our ever changing business,” said Bill Lamb, VP, Block Communications.
Nielsen combines the scale of big data with in-market local panels to provide the industry with complete, unbiased coverage of the local marketplace including viewing in over-the-air homes. Nielsen remains the only true persons-level measurement service available to the marketplace.
With this new agreement, Block stations in Louisville will continue to utilize a comprehensive suite of Nielsen data to demonstrate value to advertisers that includes local consumer data through Nielsen Scarborough.
“We are pleased to renew our partnership and look forward to working with Block to help them maximize results for their advertisers by leveraging Nielsen’s suite of trusted measurement services,” said Catherine Herkovic, EVP and Managing Director, Nielsen Local.
