SAN FRANCISCO and MOSCOW, Russia — Bitmovin, a leading provider of video infrastructure for digital media companies around the world, has partnered with Teleport Media, decentralized video delivery technologies provider, to implement a wide array of technological solutions for Okko, one of the largest Video on Demand (VoD) services in Russia. Bitmovin and Teleport Media expertise and tools will allow Okko to provide new and upgraded streaming service to its customers. Bitmovin will provide solutions and support allowing Okko’s content to be streamed to multiple devices and platforms at the fastest speeds possible and at lower bandwidths.
As the OTT/Streaming market continues to rapidly grow across Russia, Okko is taking aggressive action to improve the viewing experience of its users. Working with Bitmovin to implement a new 4K Dolby Vision video solution as well as reworking existing content for optimised 4K and HD viewing experiences Okko is bringing the highest resolutions available to a wide audience.
Okko will also be making great use of Bitmovin’s proprietary Per-Title encoding algorithm to really optimise the users viewing experience while at the same time reducing overall video bandwidth usage.
In addition, with the new solutions, Okko can now provide much more UHD content for Smart TV and all other devices, increasing the availability of premium content for customers across all of Russia
