Colombia chooses DVB-T as DTT standard
Thursday, August 28th, 2008Colombia’s National Television Commission (Comisión Nacional de Televisión – CNTV) has announced its decision to choose the DVB-T digital terrestrial television standard for Colombia, after a process of study over two and a half years.
The Colombian regulator decided that the European standard is the most suitable after analyzing in depth all of the alternatives in the market: ATSC developed by the United States; ISDB-T from Japan; China’s DTMB, as well as the DVB standard.
