BANGKOK, Thailand — Android TV Summit — SDMC, a leading Android TV solution provider, and iWedia S.A, part of the ZEGi group and world-class provider of software solutions for connected TV devices, today announced their collaboration on developing a 4K Android TV™ hybrid set-top box, targeting to deliver a complete set of Live TV business solution to the market.
The jointly developed solution is based on a 4K Android TV™ hybrid set-top box by SDMC, fully integrated with Google’s Common Broadcast Stack (CBS), as well as a premium Live TV app developed by iWedia.
As the platform grew and more apps arrived, Android TV device are rising in popularity. By pre-integrating traditional Live TV broadcast streams with OTT-delivered apps and services all in one device, the joint solution provides those who are looking for Android TV deployment with a faster, simple, and cost-effective way to scale up production and distribution of set-top boxes powered by Android TV™, while giving the chance to customize the experience in a way that suits their brand.
