Brazil - Intel and Tecsys announce digital TV partnership

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) has signed a partnership agreement with Tecsys of Brazil for the development of digital TV decoder technology for the local market. The partnership will develop both professional IRDs for TV networks and cable TV companies and set top boxes for the consumer market.
The boxes will be offered under license to companies interested in OEM manufacturing. Amplimatic has already concluded an agreement of this kind and will be one of the first companies to offer the product to market with the Intel-Tecsys technology. Two products will be launched in November.
Jabil of Brazil is also offering its services as a manufacturing partner.
