EUROPE/LONDON — German network operator Westconnect wants to enhance its TV platform E.ON TV using Zattoo’s white-label TV-as-a-Service solution.
The company, which provides fibre to over one million residents and businesses across three federal states, will then be able to offer more channels and reach a larger number of devices.
Following the upgrade, to be rolled out on 3 June 2024, E.ON TV will provide 140 TV channels in SD and HD resolution, eight foreign-language packages and 13 FAST Channels via a basic and a premium offering.
The basic package will include two parallel streams via the HP40A set-top box, Apple TV, Fire TV, web, Android Mobile and iOS. The premium package comes with a replay function, 10 hours of recording time in 5 parallel streams via HP40A, Apple TV, FireTV, web, Android Mobile, iOS HD and non-linear functions. Also available are add-on packages, providing 100 or 200 hours of recording time and additional languages.
“Continuing the successful work with Westconnect based on our core product shows the great opportunity for fast and effective collaboration between our customers, content partners and Zattoo”, said Jörg Meyer, Chief Commercial Officer at Zattoo. “Focusing on new technologies that allow regional providers to grow quickly and customer-friendly in highly competitive markets all over Europe, a supposedly ‘smaller’ provider like Westconnect can join the fast-growing ranks of state-of-the-art end-to-end white-label offerings in Europe.”
Carsten Lagemann, managing director of Westconnect, added: “We are delighted to continue the collaboration and offer the new improved service to our customers in Germany just in time for the European Football Championship 2024.”
