Jupiter Telecommunications Announces September 2008 Subscriber Figures
Friday, October 17th, 2008TOKYO, Japan — Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ: 4817), the largest multiple system operator (MSO) in Japan based on the number of customers served, has announced that the total subscribing households as of September 30, 2008 served by J:COM’s 18 consolidated franchises reached 2.90 million, up 288,000, or 11.0% since September 30, 2007. Combined revenue generating units (RGUs) for cable television, high-speed Internet access and telephony services reached approximately 5.21 million, up 604,600 or 13.1% since September 30, 2007.
The bundle ratio (average number of services received per subscribing household) increased to 1.79 as of September 30, 2008 from 1.76 since September 30, 2007. The cable television digital migration rate as of September 30, 2008 increased to 75% from 63% as of September 30, 2007.
