Chunghwa Telecom Reports First Nine Months and Third Quarter 2008 Results

TAIPEI, Taiwan, R.O.C. — Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd (TAIEX: 2412, NYSE: CHT) today reported its operating results for the first nine months and the third quarter of 2008.

As of the end of September 2008, Chunghwa had a total of 591,000 multimedia-on-demand (MOD) subscribers, of which 82,000 were new subscriptions added during the third quarter 2008, representing a 65.2% increase year-over-year.
