Canal+ goes all-digital
Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
PARIS — The Canal+ Group (Paris: VIV) is moving into the all-digital age by switching all Canal+ terrestrial-broadcast sales to DTT. New Canal+ terrestrial-broadcast subscribers will enjoy this enhanced service, which also includes the Canal+ Cinéma and Canal+ Sport channels, high-definition TV, and a decoder that lets subscribers watch 18 free DTT channels.
Subscribers with analog services will be invited to gradually switch to digital, and by the end of 2010 all Canal+ Group subscribers will have digital services. In addition to DTT, Canal+ channels are still available via all operators and digital broadcast modes (including satellite, ADSL and cable).
