DTHi pre-pay satellite TV launches in Brazil
Wednesday, May 27th, 2009A pre-pay satellite TV service, DTHi, has been launched in Brazil. The service is targeted at the 20 million households in Brazil that have satellite dishes. DTHi hopes to replace existing receivers with a set-top box capable of receiving 16 pay TV channels on top of the 40 free-to-air channels already available.
Payment is either pre-paid or post-paid, with the cost being 20 USD for a month, 7.5 USD for a week, or 12,5 USD for four consecutive weekends.
The company aims to grow to 2 million customers over the next five years.
