ViXS XCode 6400 Powers World’s First 4K Ultra HD Live Broadcast by Sky Deutschland

TORONTO, ON — ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS), a pioneer and leader in media processing solutions, today announced that Sky Deutschland, the leading pay-TV company in Germany and Austria with over 3.7 million subscribers, has chosen the ViXS XCode 6400 System on Chip (SoC) for a live Satellite 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) test broadcast of the DFB Pokal Final in Berlin on May 17th, between FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund. Sky Deutschland had relied upon ViXS to complete a previous 4K UHD trial on April 26th using the XCode 6400 UHD SoC to decode and display Bundesliga football matches in a brilliant 2160p50 resolution.
