Thomson provides new form factor STBs to Malaysia's Astro

PARIS — Thomson (Euronext Paris:18453; NYSE: TMS), worldwide leader of services to content creators, has won a further contract from Astro, Malaysia’s leading integrated cross-media group. The new contract is for the ongoing delivery of standard definition basic set-top boxes in a new form factor.
Astro TV has about 2.65 million customers in Malaysia, all currently receiving standard definition using the MPEG-2 set-top boxes.

Thomson has a long and successful relationship with Astro, providing many of its set-top box platforms. The deliveries of the new set-top box, which comes in a new design, are beginning immediately.
