Wireless HDTV to Showcase AMIMON’s High-Quality 1080p/60Hz Second Generation Chipset

SANTA CLARA, CA — AMIMON Inc., the market leader in wireless HD semiconductor solutions, today announced that Haier Electronics will be demonstrating a 1080p/60Hz wireless TV based on AMIMON’s WHDI technology at the IFA Consumer Electronics tradeshow in Berlin, September 4 – 9, 2009. The demonstrated TV is embedded with AMIMON’s second generation chipset, AMN 2120/2220, which is designed for the WHDI™ (Wireless Home Digital Interface™) standard.

Interested IFA attendees are invited to see the demonstration of AMIMON’s technology at Haier’s booth at Hall 25./130.

“We are beginning to see major market acceptance of WHDI as the standard for wireless uncompressed HD connectivity throughout the home,” said Shimon Greenberg, vice president of sales for AMIMON. “WHDI HDTVs enable an enhanced user experience with the freedom to connect the TV wirelessly to HD sources throughout the home.”

AMIMON’s second generation chipset is the first chipset capable of wirelessly delivering full uncompressed 1080p/60Hz HD content throughout the entire home. It’s based on the revolutionary video modem technology operating in the 5GHz unlicensed band, pioneered by AMIMON and the backbone of WHDI.

Key features of AMIMON’s second generation chipset include:

  • Designed for the WHDI standard
  • HD video: 1080p/60Hz & high-quality computer graphics; equivalent video rates up to 3Gbps
  • Range: multi-room — beyond 100 feet (30 meters) through walls
  • Latency: less than 1 millisecond
  • Hollywood approved HDCP 2.0 copy protection
  • Low power consumption modes for portable devices
  • Low cost — mass adoption price points
  • 5GHz unlicensed band with support for Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS)
