ViXS® DLNA Technology Now Available for XCode® Customers

ViXS® provides a Seamless Path to Build the Secure Connected Digital Home

TORONTO, — ViXS Systems Inc., a leading developer of video processing solutions today announced the release of their Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) software to current and new XCode® customers. As part of the Xtensiv™ software suite, ViXS will be offering fully tested software stacks for a DLNA Digital Media Server, Digital Media Client and DTCP/IP Security. This software can be provided to XCode® customers at the source code level allowing them to customize the look and feel based on their overall application needs. In addition, XCode® customers will not have the burden of IP license fees that are common with third party DLNA software stack providers.

DLNA is an industry standard that allows consumers to share and enjoy any content, on any device, at any time. This all can be done with ease, simply by having one or more DLNA Certified™ products connected to your home network via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or other physical layer qualified networks such as MoCA™. Having targeted full audio/video interoperability throughout the home, DLNA has over 5500 DLNA Certified™ devices including mobile products.

Combining DLNA and DTCP/IP functionality with XCode’s industry leading multimedia processing technology, manufacturers have the ability to build compelling and completely secure networked multimedia solutions. Additionally, manufacturers can take the same DLNA solution and seamlessly integrate it into next generation digital televisions, set-top boxes, blu-ray players, media gateways and network attached storage devices allowing for DLNA technology across multiple product lines all based on a single platform.
