Alticast to Showcase Its Latest Digital and Interactive TV Solutions at IBC 2009

Including First Commercialized Hybrid Receiver Delivering Seamless Mix of VOD and Catch-Up Services Content Through IP Networks Simultaneously With High-Quality Linear Interactive HD Real-Time Channels via Satellite

SEOUL, KOREA — Alticast, the worldwide leader in deployed DVB-MHP and OpenCable Platform solutions, announced today that it will reveal their latest technology for interactive TV during IBC 2009. Alticast will unveil the world’s first single middleware, dual interactive commercialised hybrid receiver, powered by Alticast’s Alticaptor middleware.

Single middleware driven, dual-interactive hybrid receivers will represent the future of broadcasting services enabling subscribers to enjoy a seamless mix of VOD and catch-up services content through their IP network simultaneously with high-quality linear interactive HD real-time channels via satellite.

Alticast will further demonstrate a comprehensive HD-DVR Hybrid solution founded on the tru2way™ platform and based on the Broadcom 7405 chipset. In addition to typical DVR and time-shift functionalities, the Alticast DVR Hybrid solution includes browser solutions support. The product will deliver all HD DVR functionalities, DnP server based VOD solution and YouTube UCC based on its browser solution.

Alticast will also showcase its Awaken TV™, a next-generation channel navigation solution, a new FASTMHP/Tru2way Open Standard GUI product designed specifically to meet the needs of the high definition broadcast, Cable, Satellite, and IPTV industries by delivering a quantum leap in the end-user experience (UX) on digital TVs.

The new “Televisual Experience” of AwakenTV brings advances in digital TV television graphical user interfaces via the presentation of video, graphics, interactive Internet applications, audio, as well as faster remote response times.
