CSA reports on digital TV in France for 1H09
Thursday, October 8th, 2009
France’s Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA) has reported latest results from its survey on the penetration of digital TV in French households.
Highlights for the first half of 2009:
- More than seven in ten households (70.3%) have at least one television with digital TV reception (DTT, satellite, ADSL or cable).
- Nearly four in ten households (39%) are fully digital, that is to say that all TVs have been converted to digital reception.
- Less than one in five households (17.2%) receives television via analogue terrestrial, a decrease of 11.9 points in one year.
- 43.1% of households have chosen DTT. DTT remains, mainly because it is free, the engine of growth for digital reception.
