Amino demos latest Internet TV and IPTV innovations at IBC

Cambridge, UK and Amsterdam, Holland — Amino, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, will be hosting an array of demonstrations showing the latest innovations in Internet TV and IPTV at IBC in Amsterdam, Holland.

Bob Giddy, Amino CEO, will be talking about New Video Applications & Services at the MPEGIF Master Class Conference at 2:40 on Thursday 6th of Sept. Room A – RAI.

The following products and services will be demonstrated on Amino’s stand, 4.240:

Internet TV – Displayed on the second generation multi-codec AmiNET125 Set-Top Box (STB), Amino will bring Internet TV from the PC to TV using Windows Media 9 and Opera browser. This widens the amount of choice, opening up a world of niche or ‘long tail’ content. The service plays streams directly from standard Window Media servers and supports WMDRM 10, Orb networks’ MyCast software – and is easily upgradeable when used in the home.

Telco TV – IPTV and Video on Demand (VoD) applications will be displayed using the same AmiNET125 STB. Hosted on a flexible, reliable platform, the development of new services has the potential to increase subscriber revenue. The AmiNET125 enables additional services (such as video conferencing, gaming and VoIP) and its programmable DSP codec can accommodate future applications.

High-Definition (HD) IPTV – This demonstration will show the quality and professionalism of HD graphics and gaming, using the MPEG-2/4 IPTV AmiNET130 STB. Operators can increase revenue by offering this enhanced viewing experience, which features a greater number of interactive and multicast channels and offers more opportunities for advertising and more Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data.

HD Personal Video Recorder (PVR) IPTV – The PVR capability along with other advanced IPTV functionalities, such as pause-live-TV and pushed content models, will allow operators to increase their customer base whilst reducing churn. This will be displayed using the new MPEG-2/4 AmiNET530 STB.
