Trinidad and Tobago issues RFP for the Provision of Free To Air DTT Services
Monday, August 13th, 2007The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (‘the Authority’) is adopting a competitive authorisation process for additional National, Major Territorial and Minor Territorial Television Broadcasters. This process shall take the form of three (3) separate comparative evaluation (‘beauty contest’) authorisation processes for three (3) additional national, two (2) additional major territorial and two (2) additional minor territorial concessions (and associated licences).
The Authority is therefore inviting applications from interested persons to apply for a concession to provide one of the following types of Free-to-Air Television Broadcasting Services:
“¢ National
“¢ Major territorial (Trinidad only)
“¢ Minor territorial (Tobago only)
The successful applicant(s) awarded a concession will be granted a broadcast station licence for the VHF and/ or UHF channels assigned via a lottery process unless circumstances allow otherwise.
