TOKYO, Japan — Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ: 4817), the largest multiple system operator (MSO) in Japan based on the number of customers served, has announced that the total subscribing households as of December 31, 2009 served by J:COM’s 23 consolidated franchises reached 3.27 million, up 107,400 or 3.4% since December 31, 2008.
Combined revenue generating units (RGUs) for cable television, high-speed Internet access and telephony services reached approximately 5.95 million, up 333,000 or 5.9% since December 31, 2008. The bundle ratio (average number of services received per subscribing household) increased to 1.82 as of December 31, 2009 from 1.77 as of December 31, 2008. The cable television digital migration rate as of December 31, 2009 increased to 90% from 78% as of December 31, 2008.
