Amino Communications (AIM: AMO.L), the world leading independent IPTV specialist, will showcase its new Amino Freedom hybrid/”Over the Top” (OTT) media centre at the IPTV World Forum 2010 in London this month – alongside a range of new generation set-top box (STB) products for the pure IPTV market.

Recently selected by a major Western European operator to deliver its broadband TV service, the new DVB-T hybrid media centre – featuring the Intel® Atom™ processor CE4100 – has been specially designed to help meet growing consumer demand for TV-based “Over-The-Top” (OTT) video entertainment.

Visitors to stand 41 will see demos of OTT content and applications running on the Amino Freedom, which has been shortlisted for an award at the show which runs from March 23-25 at London Olympia.

Amino will also unveil its next generation STi7105 system-on-chip based STB range – offering new levels of performance for IPTV deployments, including:

  • The Amino A129: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standard definition IP STB for entry level deployments
  • The Amino A140: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 high definition IP STB in a compact case
  • The Amino A540 PVR: a HD high performance STB with integral PVR

Amino Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burke said: “We have a powerful line-up for this important show that reflects the dynamic market that we’re operating in. Our entry into the hybrid/OTT market is already seeing significant traction with a tier one operator already contracting with us for deployment. The new IPTV STB line-up utilises the latest system-on-chip technology to help operators and service providers deliver the very best in entertainment services.”

Andrew will also be speaking at the event – in the Hybrid and Broadcast IP stream – on Tuesday at 12.30pm.
