Ocean Blue Voyager MHEG HD and iPlayer support available for latest Trident STB chips
Thursday, November 18th, 2010BRISTOL — Ocean Blue Software is pleased to announce that they have ported their Sunrise HD DVB stack and Voyager HD MHEG-5 stack (including support for BBC iPlayer) on to the new Trident Microsystems (Nasdaq: TRID) PNX847x (Apollo) chipset.
This is the latest in a series of co-operations that have resulted in Ocean Blue Software being available on successive generations of Trident Set-top box chipsets.
Trident has said that “the latest PNX847x series of SoCs has an ARM Cortex A9 Processor, multi-format HD STB Decoders, with support for 3D graphics and advanced power management”.
Porting the Ocean Blue range of software to this next generation of Media Processor SoCs will result in an ideal platform for Connected TV products. Philip Evans of Ocean Blue says, “This category of SoC in conjunction with Ocean Blue’s middleware will drive the next generation of connected consumer devices.”
Voyager MHEG is compliant with DTG Freeview software standards and Ocean Blue also offers MHEG profiles for Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
