Friday, December 10th, 2010
Broadcasting infrastructure company ORS (Österreichische Rundfunksender), a subsidiary of ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk) Austria’s national public service broadcaster, has created a new company called ORS Comm to develop its own satellite pay TV service. The project is called “TV direkt” internally, with a plan to launch commercially in time for the 2012 European Football Championship.
The satellite receiver for the service will also be capable of receiving DVB-T2 terrestrial services, and will have a broadband connection for video-on-demand and other services.
