Almost 9 out of 10 TV households in France have digital

According to a study of the French TV market by GfK and Médiamétrie, at the end of 2010 almost 9 out of 10 TV households in France owned at least one digital television receiver (satellite, DSL, terrestrial or cable) – 8 million more than at the end of 2008.
In the final quarter of 2010, nearly 23 million households, 84.5% of the total, were equipped for digital terrestrial TV (DTT) reception with either a set-top box (STB), an integrated digital television (IDTV), or both – giving a total of 16.6 million homes with IDTVs and 10.8 million with STBs.
