Enable Fast Device Development Cycles and Ramp-ups for New Wireless Devices

Pulse, a Technitrol Company (NYSE: TNL), a worldwide leader in electronic component and subassembly design and manufacturing, introduces its external Digital Video Broadcast-Handheld (DVB-H) planar printed wire board (PWB) antenna. Pulse’s W3520 DVB-H external antenna is ultra-thin and compact, delivers high performance, and is fully tested and matched for easy installation into DVB devices to enable fast product development cycles and ramp-ups.

The Pulse W3520 antenna is 50.5 millimeters (mm) long x 10.5mm wide x 3.0mm high. It operates at a frequency range of 470 to 750 megahertz (MHz) with a maximum 3D gain of minus 4.5 decibels isotropic (dBi) at 470 MHz and minus 3.5dBi at 750 MHz, with a minimum return loss of minus 3dB. This exceeds the Mobile and Portable DVB-T/H Radio Access Interface (MBRAI) specifications by a margin of 4dB, ensuring high performance with minimal signal loss.

Pulse’s W3520 antenna has a micro-miniature connector interface (MMCX), the coaxial RF connector standard for wireless devices, and integrated circuits. Easy, snap-in installation requires no special RF training or expertise. It has 360 degrees of rotation, an impedance of 50 Ohms, and operating temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.

The W3520 is a very short, rigid connector with mechanical durability that can withstand most twisting and bending without breaking. While most antennas of this type are either whip antennas with a long wire or retractable antennas that work only in the extended position, the W3520 DVB-H gives excellent performance in a smaller size. .

The W3520 antennas are part of Pulse’s RoHS compliant TV mobile antenna family. Antennas are available in trays. Lead time is six to eight weeks. Prices start at $ 3.90 per unit for quantities of 100,000. Individual part pricing may vary due to order configuration and shipping destination. Contact Pulse directly for engineering samples. Detailed specifications are available on data sheet W3520.
