The new system developed by TV Band e Rede TV will allow anyone who has access to a parabolic antenna to receive digital tv from the beginning of the broadcasts. To do this, a specific set-top box is required. These should reach the market in December.
“With this system, anyone who has a dish will have immediate access to Digital TV, anywhere in the national territory,” said the chairman of Network TV, Amilcare Dallevo. The transmission was shown on a Full HD TV of 60 inches, using the maximum possible resolution of 1920×1080 lines. According Amilcare, three companies have already expressed interest in manufacturing the converter.
