Vivante’s market leading multimedia composition and 3D graphics engines revolutionize the home entertainment experience

LAS VEGAS and SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Powering the next generation of connected home entertainment platforms at CES 2012, Vivante Corporation, a global leader in graphics and visualization technologies for handheld and consumer devices, announced that it has been selected to power the Marvell® (NASDAQ: MRVL) ARMADA® 1500 Media SoC. ARMADA 1500 is the leading Connected TV design used by OEMs that enables a seamless experience by converging eye popping UIs, entertaining 3D gaming, immersive HD video, web applications and social media. Products showcasing the “connected living room of the future” and the ARMADA 1500 can be seen in the Marvell booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center located in the upper level of South Hall 3 (Booth 30542).

The Vivante GC Cores inside the ARMADA 1500 perform complex visual processing using the latest 3D graphics APIs and GUI composition interfaces. Application and content developers can now create captivating products that utilize cutting-edge 3D graphics. The industry’s leading composition engine performs unmatched pixel processing and multi-source blending on large screens with high dynamic range (HDR) clarity and instant responsiveness. Interactive web apps and social networking sites are incorporating visual effects accelerated by the GPU to improve their look-and-feel. Together, these dynamic components of the new user experience are possible through the extreme low power Vivante GC Cores proliferating across an expanding ecosystem.
