NEOTION brings dual services descrambling feature in its IRDETO SoftCell 3.11 Dual Mode CA Modules to the Austrian market
AUBAGNE, France — NEOTION SA, the French company specializing in the design and manufacture of DVB-CI & CI Plus Modules intended for Pay TV operators (Broadcast and Telecommunications) who has already supplied some IRDETO access control modules technology on the Austrian market from September 2011, brings an additional feature to them. The NEOTION IRDETO SoftCell 3.11 Dual Mode CA Modules are now able to descramble simultaneously two channels for advanced set-top boxes or iDTVs which handle PVR features or Picture in Picture functionality (PIP). The future shipments of these products will embed this new feature by default.
NEOTION will launch this new product in April in collaboration with its local partner ESTRO.
Nicolas STEFANELLI, IRDETO Product Head at NEOTION, pointed out: “ORS broadcasts the main channels ORF eins, ORF 2 and its regional channels of the ORF satellite package in a single transponder. With this new feature, the user can now for example watch the channel ORF eins while recording ORF 2, or he can watch ORF eins in full screen mode with getting ORF 2 in the small PIP window”.
This NEOTION CAM can easily be directly inserted into the CI interface present on all iDTVs and on some set-top boxes. The ORF satellite package has been operated by ORS (Austrian Broadcasting Services) since 2000 and currently has over 2.6 million subscribers.
