DTG updates Freeview HD specification

LONDON — The Digital TV Group (DTG), the industry association for digital TV in the UK, has published an updated version of the 7th edition of the ‘D-Book’–the technical specification for UK digital terrestrial television (Freeview and Freeview HD) and Connected TV.
First published in April 2011, D-Book 7 is divided into two parts: Part A which contains the Freeview and Freeview HD specifications and Part B which is the technical specification for UK connected TV products and services.
Version 3 of D-Book 7 Part A, published today, includes the following updates:
- RF performance figures for the DVB-T mode which will be used to broadcast local TV
- Improvements to consistent audio loudness levels across stereo down-converted 5.1
- Logical channel numbering clarifications
- Updated MHEG and DVB-SI sections
D-Book 7 Part A version 3 is now available to DTG members.
