Amino Communications (AIM: AMO), leaders in IPTV, today announced a range of enhanced multiscreen capabilities for its Aminet IPTV product range when running on key partner Minerva’s iTVFusion 5 video service management platform.
The Company’s A140 and A540 HD devices are now fully certified with Minerva’s latest award winning 5.4 client. The enhanced platform enables operators to deliver an enhanced multiscreen experience to their customers – offering linear and on-demand video services to a range of iOS and Android tablets and smartphones. Pay TV subscribers can also use these “companion screen” devices to search for their favourite content and then play it on their main television screen via a unified user interface.
Support for other new features includes network recording for content streamed via HLS and improved integration of Twitter feeds with on-screen viewing. Improvements have also been made to Video on Demand management making it easier for operators to manage multi-region service offerings, while providing end-users with an intuitive and compelling user interface.
Amino is one of Minerva’s longest standing partners, working on over 150 IPTV deployments worldwide since 2003. The two companies work closely in a number of regions including North America, Latin America and Europe.
Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “Our long standing relationship with Minerva goes back to the very start of IPTV. This latest certification will enhance our proposition to operators, combining new functionality plus the industry leading HLS capability and high quality our customers expect from Amino devices.”
“Amino worked closely with us to ensure the new iTVFusion 5.4 client features work seamlessly on their Aminet set-top boxes” said Mauro Bonomi, CEO of Minerva. “We continue to collaborate with Amino to deliver converged pay TV solutions that allow our customers to differentiate their services in an increasingly competitive market.”
