AMSTERDAM — IBC 2013 — ABOX42, a leading provider of Smart Set-Top Boxes (STB) and services, showcases its new “M20” IPTV and OTT Smart STB at IBC 2013. The M20 enables operators and service providers to deliver new IP-based TV content and services, upgrade existing customers and create new business models. The M20 is powered by Broadcom’s BCM7241 high-definition IP STB platform and delivers a full suite of Internet-based frameworks and applications to support the delivery of IPTV and OTT content and services. Demonstrated the first time this week at IBC 2013, the ABOX42 M20 is production-ready and shipping to first partners.
M20 complements ABOX42’s Smart STB platform product series of M12 & B12 at the high end as a fully compatible alternative depending on special applications and advanced requirements. The ABOX42 Smart SDK allows operators to ship both M12 and M20 in the same network based on the performance requirements – e.g. M12 for Zapper Box and M20 with PVR support.
Broadcom’s family of IP STB platforms enables advanced IPTV and OTT entertainment services in a compact, cost-efficient and high performance package.
