Pay TV penetration in Russia reaches 60%
Thursday, October 17th, 2013According to industry analysts TelecomDaily, the number of pay-TV subscribers in Russia at the end of the third quarter of 2013 was 33.3 million up from 32.5 million at the end of the the second quarter. Pay TV penetration reached 60%, up from 56% in 2012. The share of the seven largest operators was almost 80% of the pay TV market.
Tricolor TV, the largest operator, gained the most new subscribers in the quarter at 250,000, with second-placed Rostelecom adding 124,000. MTS, in third place, lost 6,000 subscribers.
