- Novel Solution Creates New Cloud-based Business Models that Enhances Revenue Security and Reduces Time to Market; Deployed by Russia’s TVzor
AMSTERDAM — IBC2014 — Vidmind, enabling TV operators to launch a full blown over–the-top (OTT) pay-TV service, today announced its partnership with Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe. As part of their cooperation, the companies will bring to market a novel DRM-in-the-cloud offering, which serves as an important new component of Vidmind’s complete cloud-based OTT pay-TV solution. The integrated platform has been deployed by TVzor, a new retail pay-TV operator in Russia, enabling the operator to cost-effectively deliver premium content over unmanaged networks in a highly secure and novel fashion.
Vidmind will be presenting its cloud TV solution featuring the Verimatrix DRM-in-the-Cloud integration at IBC 2014, Hall 14, booth K 20.
Vidmind is the one of the first online video platforms (OVP) to offer a DRM-in-the-cloud service featuring advanced revenue security. The service enables pay-TV operators anywhere in the world to launch premium TV services protected by the award-winning Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS™), which offers operators the robust protection they demand, without the need to configure a dedicated DRM key server. This cloud approach saves CAPEX, integration costs and reduces time to market. The end-to-end Vidmind solution also supports full multi-screen and TV Everywhere deployments to PCs, set-top boxes (STBs), Web, smart TVs and mobile devices.
Capitalizing on the clear trend towards IP and software-based technologies as foundation for the future of pay-TV service delivery, VCAS provides a harmonized rights management approach behind a full range of pay-TV service offerings. VCAS is especially applicable to OTT services that feature a mix of streaming formats that need to be delivered to the broadest range of devices, enabling consumers to access premium content on their preferred screen whenever they choose.
“Vidmind is the first partner to offer a cloud-based solution with advanced content security from Verimatrix,” said Danny Peled, CEO, Vidmind. “We are happy to lead the way with Verimatrix in creating solutions and business models that fit the new OTT world and efficiently serve multi-screen pay-TV services.”
“We are pleased to be able to expand our range of options for progressive pay-TV operators to integrate and deploy advanced VCAS security solutions,” said Steve Oetegenn, president of Verimatrix. “The deployment at TVzor is a good example of how new operators and services can come to market based on our partnership with Vidmind.”
