Vidmind unveils hybrid Android STB for Russia's TVzor

- Vidmind’s New V2 Hybrid Android STB Will Be Widely-Distributed In Russia By TVzor, The Country’s First Advanced Primary TV Service
TEL AVIV, Israel — Vidmind, which enables new virtual TV operators to launch a full blown over the top (OTT) Pay-TV service, is officially unveiling Vidmind V2, the new version of its Hybrid Android STB for virtual operators at the IBC conference in September. The STB was designed by Vidmind and was manufactured by Hisense, the number one TV and STB brand in China. The product will be deployed in Russia by TVzor starting October 2014.
The new Hybrid STB and remote control recently won the prestigious design awards from Red Dot and Good Design. It features a dual core CPU and a Full HD UI, providing a robust and intuitive user experience. The DVBT2 tuner lets viewers seamlessly access free-to-air content as well as OTT content. The V2 STB is Hollywood certified with Verimatrix DRM, facilitating the monetization of premium content. It includes Dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wifi for an optimized video delivery over the air running on top of Android KitKat 4.4, supporting the latest Android apps.
Vidmind’s V2 remote control manufactured by Remote Solutions supports both TV navigation and advanced gaming capabilities. The remote is double-sided and has a full QWERTY keyboard to support easy and fast search, free typing, and other features. The remote is also enhanced with back lighting to ensure a good experience while typing in low light conditions. Additionally, RF communication ensures long-distance and high quality control of the STB that does not require a direct line of sight.
The Remote is also packed with 6-axis gyro and accelerometer sensors, 2D point, click cursor, and smart motion Server provided by Movea. Vidmind STB UI takes advantage of the motion capabilities to enable gestures based navigation which improves the overall UX.

The new V2 STB is part of Vidmind’s end to end OTT platform which includes a complete cloud based OTT back end, supports mobile apps, connected TVs and web, to deliver a full blown TV service.
