AMSTERDAM — IBC — Zenterio, a leading provider of the independent operating system platform for interactive TV, announced today that M7 Group, one of the fastest growing companies for pay TV services in Europe, has deployed the Zenterio Operating System (OS) for the launch of its new IPTV service in the Netherlands.
This marks the first deployment in a long-term collaboration that was established late 2013 and combines Zenterio OS and hardware from KAONMEDIA with IPTV and OTT services from Stream Group. Additional rollouts are expected in in other M7 countries over the next 12 months.
“There are currently an estimated 20 million IPTV subscribers in Europe and there is strong potential to reach even more through innovative solutions that respond to increasing demand and exceed user expectations,” said Stefan Lager, VP Sales, Zenterio. “We are committed to being the partner of choice for leading companies like M7 Group and to accompanying them throughout the development and launch of solid, secure and advanced interactive TV services – whether based on pure IPTV, or cable or satellite hybrid solutions.”
The new service in the Netherlands was launched in three and a half months including integration with existing hardware.
“Zenterio adapted its OS to the new hardware and developing defined customizations and Stream Group adding its OTT services and User Interface according to Zenterio OS APIs,” added Lager.
“Working with Zenterio enables M7 to have a more independent approach to both hardware and software and as such allows us to create a more tailored solution which fits our business needs. The ability to rapidly respond to market opportunities must be key to any developments we undertake. Zenterio’s OS gives us this opportunity and we have already experienced this in the recent deployments on our new Online.nl IPTV and OTT services which were launched in very short timescales. We now look forward to extending this relationship across our future hybrid receivers” comments Ron Paans, Technical Director for M7 Group.
