Beltelecom expands DVB-T2 pay TV coverage in Belarus

Belarus national telecoms provider, Beltelecom, has announced the expansion of its Zala DVB-T2 pay TV service to more areas of the country. The operator has added the cities of Masty and Grodno in the Grodno region, taking coverage to around 40% of the territory of Belarus.
Beltelecom expects to cover 50% of the country by the end of 2014, expanding that to 80% in 2015. The company’s transmitter network will grow from 25 sites in 2013 to 107 by the end of 2014, with another 70 being added in 2015.
Beltelecom launched Zala in October 2013 in partnership with the Belarusian Republican Radio and Television Broadcasting Centre and has around 40,000 susbcribers.
