Oregan Continues Advances In Digital Cable With A Next Generation Hybrid Middleware Win in Asia Pacific

  • Oregan Media Browser 5 becomes the STB middleware solution of choice by an Asia Pacific cable operator, in partnership with a leading Taiwanese network equipment manufacturer and incorporating hybrid cardless VCAS security from Verimatrix.
  • The solution offers a complete next-generation hybrid digital cable blueprint, leveraging manufacturing economies of scale and time to market advantages.
  • Oregan embraces the regional leadership opportunity, reinforcing its position as a go-to provider for high quality Pay TV solutions that meet the cost points required for emerging and frontier markets.

LONDON and TAIPEI — Oregan Networks, a leading provider of hybrid Pay TV middleware solutions, announced today that it has launched a multi-year project which will see its cable customer’s systems and subscriber services upgraded to support higher quality managed video services, diversify its offering to include access to a vast library of fresh Over The Top (OTT) content, and seamlessly blend the traditional linear TV experience with multiscreen TV Everywhere and On-Demand features.

The solution delivers on the operator’s key objective to create a competitive content and service offering, allowing it to grow both subscriber base and ARPU at an accelerated rate.

Oregan’s CEO Mark Perry commented, ‘Oregan and its partners recognise the industry’s key strategic imperatives to drive operational costs down, whilst keeping the user experience on par with the ever rising expectations of consumers. This is especially pertinent in the cable industry, where the pressure to update legacy analogue and non-connected DVB deployments makes for the strongest case in utilising pre-integrated solutions that address the most significant considerations driving innovation: multi-platform content security, cost of ownership and time to market. Together with its partners, Oregan is able to cater for these most immediate of needs that operators are facing’.

Oregan Networks have demonstrated a track record of growth in the IPTV market, providing disruptive Hybrid OTT technologies to telecom operators globally, and continuously challenging outdated content distribution models and the monolithic solution approach that is common in the market.

The deployment is slated to go live in Q3 2016 and is managed from Oregan’s established Asia Pacific base in Taipei.
